Independence Day is finally upon us. The pool has plenty of activities through the weekend and into the week to help celebrate.
Tomorrow (Friday, July 2) will feature a walk-up food truck, Smoke Stacks House of BBQ, at the pool from 4:30 to 7 pm. Stick around for the jam session at 8 pm out front.
Sunday is, of course, the big day. Although we have decided to forego the usual potluck lunch and a few of the less socially distanced games this year, we will have plenty of your old favorites, including a water balloon toss, a t-shirt relay (12 and over only, vaccines highly recommended), the coin toss, and, of course, the Big Splash Contest. The pool opens at 11 am, festivities start around 1 pm, concluding by 4. The pool will close at 6 pm to allow everyone (including the guards) to get to the fireworks.
Monday Movie night features Shrek this week; 8:30 pm on the basketball court.
Please note that we have upgraded our WiFi. The new signal (WiFO) should be available at all points around the deck, and probably most of the parking lot. The old signal should still work. The password will be posted at the pool.
While I had hoped to be able to bring more positive news about the baby pool, unfortunately it doesn’t look like it will be ready for the holiday. There is one remaining issue with some damage to the picnic shelter, and the contractor needs to get the final inspection…but we are very close now.
Check out our Facebook page for a 10% off offer from Bottlegonia, a new beer/wine store in the Burnt Mills shopping center.
Hope to see you at the pool, and have a happy and safe Independence Day!
